A 90-minute class with Beni exploring footwork technique, weight transfer in marking steps and arm movement. This class report was published in 2023.

Beni’s seventh introductory masterclass explored Fin de Fiesta bulerías. Students practised palmas and choreography before taking turns dancing in a circle and encouraging one another with jaleo.

BG’s teachers and assistant instructors continue practising with Beni to produce a clear sound while moving their arms. Daily practice supports their hope that students will one day dance sevillanas and other dances with castanets.

Five musicians joined the final full rehearsal in the performance lineup. Musical coordination, Natalia’s advice and Beni’s encouragement built excitement with three days to go.

On January 24, 2025, Beni returned to Alhambra with the same artists as in August 2024. His wholehearted soleá made a lasting impression before a full house.

Sunshine, smiling students and rhythmic footwork filled our April 27, 2025 performance at Akabane Baka Matsuri, with warm applause along the street.

The tenth edition continued with sevillanas. Students worked on the second part while observing Beni’s breathing, facial expression and body movement.

Students and artists came together for the first full rehearsal of the 9th recital, working on 17 numbers, recording the music and shaping formations and staging.

A day of dance and music in Akabane, featuring an introduction to BG Academy, castanet and fan demonstrations, and audience interest in the studio.
