Beni’s 13th introductory Master Open Class has concluded
The 13th Master Open Class, held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, concluded successfully This session focused on learning marcaje through a bulerías choreography.
marcaje is an important element of flamenco dance that creates flow while keeping a strong sense of rhythm. In this class, we carefully explored how to use it within an actual choreography and how to perform the movements.
Some aspects, such as following the rhythm and timing the footwork, may have felt a little challenging for beginners. Nevertheless, everyone stayed focused until the end. It was a rewarding session in which participants could physically experience flamenco’s distinctive rhythm and atmosphere.
Beni’s detailed guidance also helped many participants appreciate once again the importance of the atmosphere and feeling conveyed through the dance.

I really enjoyed this masterclass too! The choreography was difficult, and there were parts I couldn’t keep up with, but the class had such a cheerful atmosphere. Beni said that “the atmosphere matters more than the choreography,” so I felt able to throw myself into dancing. I’ve attended these masterclasses several times, and there are always people at different levels. I think there’s a feeling that “every level is welcome.” I would definitely love to take part again! I had only just started learning flamenco and had taken about two sevillanas lessons when I attended my first masterclass as a complete beginner. To start with the conclusion, it was a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable experience. At first, I couldn’t do the footwork and didn’t know the hand positions, but Beni gently patted my shoulder and said, “As long as you enjoy dancing, that’s what matters!” Before I knew it, the time had flown by. I was trying so hard to keep up that, rather than focusing on understanding everything, I became absorbed in moving my body and enjoying myself. If you’re finding it hard to take that first “I’ll give it a try” step, I really recommend attending one of Beni’s masterclasses. You’re sure to have a great time! Everyone taking part, from beginners to experienced dancers, regular students and substitute teachers, was warm and welcoming. I never felt embarrassed or uncomfortable at all!
