Our First Flamenco Day: A Chronicle of a Day Together
— ◆ —
Flea Market
At the flea market,
teacher BENI contributed lots of products, and everyone enjoyed shopping at special bargain prices available exclusively at that FLAMENCO DAY.

— ◆ —
Makeup Workshop
Although some participants had never done stage makeup before, everyone achieved a lovely look suited to them.
We would be happy if the materials and our advice proved useful to you.

Our Teacher at Lunchtime
Our teacher prepared paella, and
Mari, teacher Beni’s wife, made and brought tortilla and salmorejo.
Everything was truly delicious and disappeared completely in no time.
It’s so enjoyable to be able to share a meal together!
It was a wonderful lunchtime.

Nonstop Sevillanas
During nonstop sevillanas, we danced again and again to the accompaniment of students who were studying guitar and cante. Teacher Beni gave each person advice as we imagined different situations in which people dance at a feria, and everyone was able to dance sevillanas in their own way.

Tabladillo
During the tabladillo session, teacher Beni gave us advice on the fin de fiesta, when everyone dances together at the end of a live performance.
Among other things, we learned the importance of coming together as one while listening carefully to the palmas (rhythmic clapping) and jaleo (encouraging calls) supporting the dance from behind, as well as the guitar and cante (flamenco singing). We learned a great deal.
