On September 13, 2025, at the request of the Embassy of Spain in Japan, BG Flamenco Academy gave a flamenco performance before the awards ceremony at the International Friendship Regatta 2025, an international yacht race organized by Hayama Marina Yacht Club.
The performers were dancers Mayuko Harada and 北村奈美, guitarist 逸見豪, and flamenco singer 小松美保. With the sea and its salt-laden breeze as a backdrop, the stage took on a special radiance. The day was overcast, with occasional rain, but the rain had stopped by the time of the performance, allowing us to dance to the warm applause of many guests.
In the same waters where the sailing events of the Tokyo Olympics took place, this gathering devoted to international exchange and friendship gave us the opportunity to perform for embassy representatives from around the world, yacht club participants, and members of the local community. Dancing in the name of Benito García Flamenco Academy was a source of great pride for us and an unforgettable experience.
The scent of the sea, the sound of the waves, and the compás blended into a single stage. Flamenco crossed borders and became a bridge from heart to heart.
We extend our deep gratitude to the Embassy of Spain in Japan for giving us such a valuable opportunity. Our heartfelt thanks also go to everyone who came to share the occasion with us.

Poetic version (short poem)
The sea was mirror and altar.
The compás became a sail filled with wind,
the footsteps, waves; the arms, a seagull’s wings.
The cante carried the scent of salt.
The sky opened, and amid swaying flags and voices, a moment of truth was born.
Flamenco lit up the marina and, beyond land and sea, built a bridge from heart to heart.
“We will meet again with the next tide, with the next compás.”
