Our Visit to Bancho Kindergarten in Chiyoda
The kindergarten children aged 3, 4 and 5 had a wonderful time enjoying flamenco!
We began with the Spanish greeting ¡Hola! Teacher Beni taught the children the flamenco cheer ¡Olé! with a stylish pose, and they also learned foot movements and palmas, or rhythmic handclapping. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn amazed us: “I can do more!”
To finish, everyone enjoyed sevillanas together, with the children joining in with clapping and flamenco cheers.
The children, mothers and teachers were all delighted. After the activity, one of the teachers told us that the children had said, “When I get home, I’ll teach my grandma!” Hearing that made us so happy!
