Two Nights at Alhambra in Nishi-Nippori | September 2025

On Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13, 2025, I had the opportunity to perform on two consecutive nights at Alhambra in Nishi-Nippori, Tokyo. It was my first time performing on consecutive days, and the opportunity proved to be a very valuable experience.
On Friday the 12th, in a show produced by Emilio Maya, I danced soleá, a flamenco style, with a mantón shawl. Almost everything was improvised except the escobilla, the footwork section, but the sound of Emilio’s guitar and Manuel’s flamenco singing guided me, allowing me to dance comfortably.
On Saturday the 13th, in a show produced by Manuel de la Malena, I danced alegrías de Córdoba, a flamenco style, with a mantón shawl. Sharing the stage with leading dancers brought a positive sense of tension and a great deal of inspiration.
My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who supported me, especially the students who came to the venue over the two days. And to the artists who shared the stage with me: thank you so much for such a wonderful time.

Poetic version (short poem)
The stage was lit two nights in a row; the shawl swayed like waves, soleá was earth, and alegrías was sea.
The guitar traced a path, the flamenco singing opened the sky wider, and the heart flew free.
The applause of everyone there became wings toward the future.
“Let us meet again on the next stage, in the next compás.”
