Al Andalus at New Talents 2024: A Soleá por Bulerías Chronicle

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Benito García · Al Andalus Dance Company took part in the group ensemble category of the 33rd Flamenco Renaissance 21 “New Talents” showcase!
We closed the first day of the showcase with soleá por bulerías, a flamenco style!
We reached performance day after working together and helping one another improve every day, with teammates we could trust.
For a staging that incorporated chairs, we received passionate guidance and advice from our teacher Beni: “Dance with feeling” and “Don't become robots, simply dancing the choreography in unison.” I think every member gave their all on stage as part of the Benito García Dance Company!
We also had wonderful musical support: 小松美保 on flamenco vocals, 逸見豪 on guitar, and our teacher Beni on cajón!
Because this staging used chairs, we repainted them and redrew their decorative patterns ourselves. Beyond the dance rehearsals, the whole team came together to create this soleá por bulerías.
I believe that unity and mutual trust also came through in our dancing.
