Akabane Nōryōsai 2024: Flamenco at the Summer Festival
— ◆ —
The Akabane Nōryōsai summer festival has come to an end!
Our performance began at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024. It felt intensely hot and humid, and we wondered whether a possibly approaching typhoon had something to do with it.
A large stage had been set up in the grounds of Akabane Elementary School for the festival, alongside plenty of stalls that looked fun and offered delicious-looking food. We had the luxury of having everyone in the school grounds as our audience.

Three performers dance with raised arms as the group accompanies them with palmas on both sides
The program featured sevillanas, fandango and garrotín, and we finished by dancing sevillanas all together. During the performance, when our teacher Nami (なみ) began speaking as MC, more and more people gathered around the stage. With so many people cheering us on, we had a wonderful time dancing!
